Product Development Specialist

Brooklyn, NY, NY
Full Time
Mid Level

We believe high-quality jewelry shouldn't cost the planet — and that luxury shouldn't be designed for so few.

Ana Luisa is a Brooklyn-based jewelry brand built on a clear-cut idea: how we make our pieces matters as much as why people wear them. We design, craft, and deliver exceptional everyday jewelry for everyone — priced fairly, produced ethically, and made to create a positive impact for both people and the planet.

Now we're looking for a Product Development Specialist to join our Sourcing team and help shape what we make next.

About the job

This is a pivotal, hands-on role driving the development of our upcoming product ranges — with a particular focus on solid gold and fashion jewelry. You'll work directly with vendors to make sure every piece meets the standards of quality, sustainability, and design Ana Luisa is known for, taking products from concept all the way through to production.

It's a great fit for someone scrappy and entrepreneurial who likes to own their work end-to-end. This is a highly visible role with significant cross-functional collaboration across the company — including working directly with our founders. You'll report to the Director of PD and Production.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Drive the development of new jewelry products from concept to production, with a focus on solid gold pieces that meet our quality and sustainability standards
  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, including regular visits to production sites to ensure ethical practices and quality control
  • Partner with the design team to bring creative visions to life — weighing in on production feasibility, cost, and sustainability
  • Own product timelines, keeping development milestones and launch dates on track
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of trends and consumer preferences in the sustainable jewelry space
  • Work closely with the supply chain team to optimize production for efficiency and sustainability

What you’ll bring:

  • 3+ years in product development, ideally with a jewelry focus — solid gold experience is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of jewelry production techniques, materials, and ethical sourcing
  • Proficiency in design and production software (PLM, OMS, EDI, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD)
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • A scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset — you're resourceful, take ownership, and thrive in a fast-moving environment
  • A strong communicator and sharp critical thinker who can negotiate, problem-solve, and collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and ethical fashion
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, Product Development, or a related field preferred

What you’ll love about us:

  • Health Insurance and Wellness: Employer-subsidized health plan (Medical, Dental, Vision); 10 Sick days
  • 401K with matching
  • Time Off: Flexible Paid Time Off; Generous Paid Parental Leave
  • Brand Perks: Employee discount; Welcome gift card
  • Office Perks: Bagel Thursdays; In-office and Offsite events; Flexible WFH policy
  • Others: Commuter benefits; Fun & friendly company culture

Ana Luisa is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at the company. We are committed to equal employment opportunities and welcome all candidates regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetics, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
