Product Photographer

New York City, NY
Contracted
Mid Level

Ana Luisa is a Brooklyn-based e-commerce jewelry brand with a simple, but clearcut idea that high quality jewelry shouldn't cost the planet. We believe that how we create our pieces matters just as much as why people wear them and that luxury shouldn't be defined so narrowly and designed for so few. We design, craft and deliver exceptional everyday pieces for everyone, priced fairly and produced ethically to create a positive impact for both people and the planet.

About the Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled PT Product Photographer with strong expertise in on-white e-commerce photography, specifically for jewelry. This role is responsible for photographing, styling, and delivering consistently high-quality PDP imagery that accurately reflects product detail, scale, and craftsmanship based on internal guidelines.

This is a project-based role compensated at $50 per final image, with an average of ~75 products per month. Launches are two collections per month, and shoots should be completed within a set number of dedicated shoot days and not spread throughout the month.

Photographer must have their own studio setup and equipment suitable for high-quality jewelry still-life work.

What you'll be responsible for:

Product Photography

  • Photograph jewelry products on a white background for e-commerce and digital channels.
  • Capture consistent angles, detail/macro shots, silhouettes, and textures aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain true color, sharpness, scale accuracy, and lighting consistency across high SKU counts.

Jewelry Styling & Product Handling
  • Style jewelry products for shoot readiness, including:

    • Hanging chains cleanly and evenly

    • Propping or stabilizing rings and small pieces

    • Arranging multiple components for sets or bundles

  • Handle delicate items with care and ensure they are photographed free of dust, fingerprints, or imperfections.
Studio Workflow & Shoot Execution
  • Plan and execute shoots within a dedicated number of shoot days per month.
  • Effectively use personal studio equipment, lighting, and setups to produce consistent results.
  • Maintain a repeatable on-white lighting system tailored for small reflective products.
  • Organize incoming products, track shot lists, and maintain efficient throughput across monthly collections.
  • Receive, log, store, and return product samples in coordination with internal teams.

Post-Production Coordination

  • Prep files for retouchers, including:
    File naming conventions and metadata

What You"ll Bring:

  • 2–4+ years of product photography experience, preferably with jewelry or small reflective objects.
  • Experience shooting in a personally owned studio equipped for still-life jewelry work.
  • Expertise in lighting for metals, stones, and highly detailed reflective surfaces.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless systems, Capture One, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating on-white PDP photography, macro work, and styling skills.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to shoot high-volume collections on a recurring monthly cadence.
