The Sales Manager is responsible for driving Ana Luisa's wholesale Independent growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. This role focuses on expanding the brand into strategic retail partners and emerging distribution channels while building long-term relationships that support sustainable growth. The ideal candidate is a proactive business developer who thrives on prospecting, negotiating, and bringing new accounts from initial outreach through successful onboarding.

This role will report directly into the VP of Wholesale.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective accounts across national, regional, and specialty retailers.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new wholesale partnerships aligned with Ana Luisa's brand strategy.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including outreach, discovery, presentations, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Develop customized assortment recommendations that meet both customer needs and company objectives.
  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and serve as the primary point of contact throughout the onboarding process.
Channel Expansion
  • Research and evaluate new wholesale opportunities, including specialty retail, international markets, corporate gifting, travel retail, and other strategic channels.
  • Develop launch plans for new distribution channels and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful market entry.
  • Assess channel performance and provide recommendations for expansion, refinement, or discontinuation based on business results and strategic fit.
Account Onboarding & Transition
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new wholesale partners.
  • Coordinate assortment planning, pricing, operational requirements, and launch timelines.
  • Transition established accounts to the ongoing account management team with complete documentation and clear communication to support long-term success.
Sales Operations
  • Maintain accurate customer records, opportunity tracking, and sales forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular pipeline updates and communicate sales activity, opportunities, and risks to leadership.
  • Ensure all account documentation, agreements, and internal processes are completed accurately and on time.
Brand Representation
  • Represent Ana Luisa at industry trade shows, buyer meetings, and networking events.
  • Deliver compelling presentations that communicate the brand's value proposition and product offering.
  • Ensure all new partnerships align with company standards for brand positioning, pricing integrity, and customer experience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Experience teams to support successful wholesale launches.
  • Share market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform product and business strategies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of wholesale sales processes, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in wholesale sales, business development, account acquisition, or retail partnership  strongly preferred 
  • Must be based in Midwest
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events as needed-up to 6 x a year
  • Strong analytical ability and experience in analyzing sales trends and related data
  • Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, thriving in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
